I received the books mentioned in this post for free from Book of the Month Club. This post also contains affiliate links, meaning I’ll get some cash money if you sign up for a subscription after clicking on my links (thanks!)
Last month, I wrote a post about Book of the Month Club, or what I like to call “the original subscription box,” since it’s been around for almost a century. Founded in 1926, the club runs the same way it always has – it offers a selection of five new hardcover books to its members each month. Books are selected and endorsed by a panel of judges, and members choose which book they would like to receive for $11.99 a month. Considering that hardcover books typically run from $25-$30, this is pretty much a steal! Members can also add up to 2 books to their monthly box for $9.99 each.
I’m on my second month of membership, and I have not been disappointed. The club actually has a tradition of focusing on debut and emerging writers, so I can bet that picking up one of these page-turners will not be a waste of time in my ongoing quest to find my new favorite book. I love reading, but often don’t have the time to spend finding something good to dig into. With Book of the Month Club, the work has already been done for me to find my next “can’t put it down” obsession – I powered through my first April selection, Startup, in less than 24 hours. Unlike most subscription boxes, this one delivers a great product at a low price – making it the one subscription that I actually need in my life.
Want to spend your time reading better books? Here’s how it works:
- Each month, the club’s panel of judges selects 5 great new books. Selections are announced on the first of the month, and members can choose which book they would like to receive
- All plans include: 1 hardcover book of your choice each month, and free shipping
- Members can also add up to 2 books to their monthly box for $9.99 each
- Membership plans start at $11.99/month
