With the holiday season approaching, it’s safe to say that an era of indulgence is imminent. My head already hurts thinking about the holiday parties and festive gatherings with friends and family. A fact about my life – I get the hangovers from hell. Nausea and throbbing head pain can last for days after just a few drinks. On my never-ending quest for the ultimate hangover prevention tool, I’ve been curious about activated charcoal. Activated charcoal’s list of accomplishments reads as follows: It whitens teeth, alleviates bloating and gas, promotes a healthy digestive tract, reduces joint pain, soothes insect bites, and yes, is rumored to prevent hangovers. I picked up a bottle over the weekend, and plan to put it to the test next week – stay tuned.
Speaking of the holiday season, every girl needs a festive party dress to make it through. I think I found the perfect one – and it’s under $90. You’re welcome.
I spent the past few weeks getting up to date on Grey’s Anatomy. I know what you’re thinking: that show is still on? But I have a place in my heart for the doctors of Seattle Grace / Grey Sloane Memorial Hospital – when I was a senior in high school, I watched the show with my parents religiously every Thursday night. I kept up with it for many years after that, but dropped off around season 9. I’m now fully caught up, and the long-running medical drama hit a major milestone last week – its 300th episode.
I haven’t had much time over the past few weeks to dig into a good book, but I do routinely read blogs. I loved this article from The Every Girl on how to add time to your week – something we all need more of.
