I feel like these Monday posts are in a constant state of déjà-vu over the past few months. Mondays are always the day that I vow to get back to a regular posting schedule after yet another crazy week. But this week really is the week – I’m back from celebrating my company’s holiday party in Philly last week and had a restorative weekend with ample beach time with two of our best friends visiting from the Northeast. I can’t believe that Christmas is only a week away, and will be spending the next few days doing some last minute gift shopping for family and friends. In the meantime, here’s this week’s coffee talk. Enjoy!
For the past few months, Andrew and I have adopted a new weekend ritual: breakfast at Bear’s Food Shack. To all of you locals who have’t tried this place yet, you need to! This little surf shack serves up acai bowls, tacos, smoothies, and the best breakfast wraps. Bear’s bacon egg and cheese wrap has become a weekend staple for me. What makes it so good, you ask? Well, the breakfast potatoes that are inside the wrap. For all of you who aren’t lucky enough to call Delray Beach home, here’s a recipe for recreating a tortilla filled with goodness à la Bear’s at home.
Holiday style calls for style with an ample amount of comfort, thanks to long days and evenings on your feet, mingling with friends and family. My go-to since Thanksgiving have been these luxe Gucci loafers (a gift from Andrew), but here are some more affordable options if you’re not in the mood to splurge.
Newest obsession: Hulu’s Runaways. This Marvel series is brought to you by executive producer Josh Schwartz of Gossip Girl and The O.C. fame, so how could it be anything less than amazing? There are times when pretty much every teenager thinks his or her parents are evil — but what if it was actually true? That’s the situation six Los Angeles teenagers find themselves in when they stumble upon a terrible secret and realize that their parents have been lying to them for their entire lives. The offspring begin an investigation to try to figure out what their guardians are after, while the adults wonder if their kids are hiding secrets of their own.
I’ll be honest, I haven’t had much time to dig into a meaty novel with the holiday craziness. I do try to keep up with my favorite blogs, and one of my favorite articles of late has been a recap of Well + Good’s top career advice from 2017. As we all struggle to wrap things up for the year, it’s good to remember that you’re not your job and to leave work at work.
