Coffee Talk

I can’t believe it’s already the start of another workweek! I know I sound like a broken record, but weekends always seem to go too fast. I actually didn’t do too much over the weekend – Andrew got home from a 4-night business trip early Friday morning, so we spent the majority of our days off relaxing at home. Here’s everything I’m eating, wearing, watching, and reading this week.

Eating:

If I had to choose a food group as my favorite… it would be carbs, plain and simple. I’m a lover of all things carby – potatoes, pasta, pizza, and obviously, bread. My favorite pasta of late has been cacio e pepe (I’m a fan of the Chrissy Teigen recipe here), so I was immediately captivated by this recipe for cacio e pepe monkey bread. Crafted from pizza dough and cooked in a terra cotta pot (how adorable!) this cheesy pull-apart bread will be a must if I ever get it together to host a party at my house.

Wearing:

The onset of even warmer weather has me craving breezy pieces that will keep me cool while also leaving me looking slightly more put together than my denim cutoffs. I’m into the maxi skirts these days – and this one would look so cute with a knotted tank and simple flip flops for a casual dinner or even just a day of running errands. Plus, you really can’t beat the sub-$35 price tag.

Watching:

If you’ve yet to discover Showtime’s Billions, I highly recommend getting into it. Season 2 concluded with an epic finale a few weeks ago (which we just tuned into on Showtime Anytime over the weekend. This addictive drama positions shrewd U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades against ambitious hedge fund king Bobby Axelrod. Also, I’ve been listening to Josh Ritter’s Homecomingwhich plays during the final minutes of this season’s finale, on repeat all morning.

Reading:

If you’re on the hunt for a good beach read for your upcoming Memorial Day Weekend getaway, I’ll be reading Emily Giffin’s First Comes LoveFrom the author of Something Borrowed (a personal favorite), First Comes Love is a story about a pair of sisters that find themselves at a crossroads. Personally, I can’t wait to dig into this one.
