Fall is a time for transitions. Transitioning into chillier weather, transitioning into the holiday season, getting ready to transition into a new year. This fall is especially poignant for me, as it marks the final autumn of my 20s. I’m now within a month of the big 3-0, and to be honest, I can think of little else. My 20s were a big decade for me (as they are for most people): I graduated from college, started my first job, adopted two animals, and got married. I moved to New York City, I moved back to Philadelphia, and I made a very big move to Florida. I had more fun than I’d care to relive in my early 20s, and my mid- to late-twenties were tumultuous at times. As I prepare to cross over into my 30s, I look forward to a decade of more stability. I am more comfortable in my own skin and have a better sense of who I am. I take things less seriously. I wake up and go to bed earlier. I’ve learned to accept my flaws and emphasize my strengths. I’ve overcome some of my shyness, and have learned to advocate for myself.
In honor of a season of crossing over, I’m donning this perfect layering piece – a lightweight, crossover sweater. I love styling this with a lacy bralette playing peekaboo underneath and simple accessories.
